Greek Turkey Burgers

Greek food has such excellent flavor and is typically lighter in calories. I'm always looking for more variations to try, especially if feta is involved! These turkey burgers have very few ingredients and the prep is minimal, just how I like it! We topped ours with Greek yogurt, cucumber, sliced red onions, and tomatoes. These pair perfectly with roasted veggies, rice, quinoa, or salad. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey (I used 98%)

  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic

  • 1 tsp. cumin

  • 2 tsp. oregano

  • 1/3 c. Kalamata olives, finely diced

  • 3 oz. crumbled feta (84 g.)

  • 1 c. fresh spinach, finely chopped

  • salt and pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spray the baking sheet with olive or avocado oil cooking spray.

  2. Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl and mix together thoroughly.

  3. Using your hands, scoop out a handful of meat and form it into a ball. Place it on the baking sheet and then flatten to about 1.5 inches thick. Do this 5 times to create 5 burgers of equal size. Then, once all 5 burgers have been formed, use your thumb to create a small dent in the middle of each burger. This will prevent them from caving while they cook.

  4. Bake for about 8-10 minutes.
